In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to set up your HostMidas email account in Mac Mail. By following this guide, you can ensure your email is configured correctly for secure, reliable access on your Mac.
Step 1: Open Mac Mail
1. Open the Mail app on your Mac.
2. In the top menu, select Mail > Add Account…

Step 2: Select Account Type
In the “Choose a Mail account provider” window, select Other Mail Account… and click Continue.

Step 3: Enter Your Email Information
1. Enter the following details:
• Name: Your display name (how it will appear to recipients).
• Email Address: Enter your full HostMidas email address (e.g., [email protected]).
• Password: Enter your email account password.
2. Click Sign In.
Note: If you see an error like “Unable to verify account name or password,” continue with manual configuration in Step 4.

Step 4: Manually Configure Server Settings
1. Choose Account Type as IMAP.
2. Enter the following server details:
• Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com (e.g., mail.weblit.nz)
• Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com
3. Click Sign In.

Step 5: Select Apps to Use with This Account
1. Choose the apps you want to sync with your email account (e.g., Mail, Notes).
2. Click Done.

Step 6: Verify Account Settings
To ensure your email functions optimally, verify the following settings in Mail > Preferences > Accounts:
• Incoming Server Port: 993 for IMAP with SSL enabled
• Outgoing Server Port: 465 for SMTP with SSL enabled
Save any changes.
